General Observation of the participants

1)       The trial of the Ayesha Meera murder case speedup after a new Judge appointed to this court, and she started the trial of the case believing that Sathyambabu Is real culprit, though there are many cases pending from years together, this case was tried within a year ad delivered Judgment

2)      The police kept Sathyambabu under illegal custody for 17 days after his arrest to pressurize and get his confession

3)      After the new Assistant commissioner of police for west zone Vijayawada taken charge, the police released statement to media that they found the killer of Ayeshameera that is Sathyambabu

4)      The above observation reveals that the state had a role to finalizing this case by appointing Judge and Police Commissioner, as this is a sensational case and there is public and media attention towards this case

5)      The Present evidence on which Sathyambabu convicted was invalid according to many Supreme Court Judgments

6)      In the Judgment on Sathyambabu, it is mentioned that Sathyambabu divorced his wife within three months of his marriage, but the reality is that the wife of Sathyambabu was his own sister in law, and she was in love with another boy before marrying Sathyambabu, after come to know this fact Sathyambabu convinced his uncle and married his wife to her lover, this reveals the nature of Sathyambabu

7)      There was no honest and fair trial in this case

8)      While quash petitions ( as the police filed 9 false cases against Sathyambabu including Ayeshameera murder case) going on in the high court to quash the false cases on Sathyambabu, a confession video of Sathyambabu was telecasted in NTV ( a regional news channel) that video was handed over to channel by the real culprits of Ayeshameera murder case

9)      The high court quashed 5 cases against Sathyambabu saying that they are false

10)   Sathyambabu infected  GB Syndrome after six months of arrest

11)    The conviction of Sathyambabu in Ayeshameera murder case was Judgment by the state and police,  not only by the Judiciary

12)   It is the decision of the state to close this case by conviction of Sathyambabu

[ZESTCaste] Driven out of homes, Dalits knock on CM door

Driven out of homes, Dalits knock on CM door
Priya Ranjan Sahu, Hindustan Times

Bhubaneswar, October 06, 2010First Published: 00:03 IST(6/10/2010)
Last Updated: 00:05 IST(6/10/2010)

Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik finally met evicted Dalit
villagers of Koraput district on Tuesday after a suicide bid by four
of them a day earlier. The Dalits attempted self-immolation when they
were denied an interview with Patnaik. Ironically, a tribal outfit
called Chasi Mulia Sangha (CMS), which has left leanings, drove them
out of their native

soil. The body has connections with the Communist Party of India
(Marxist-Leninist),

an overground political organisation. It is not known if the CMS has
any truck with the Maoists.

Patnaik agreed to provide money from the chief minister's relief fund
for the daily expenses of the families for one month. He also directed
officials to immediately build houses in places where the villagers
wanted to settle.

About 200 people from Bandhugaon block of Koraput, about 600 km
southeast of Bhubaneswar, have been demonstrating here for the past
four days.

About 350 families, mostly Dalit, have been herded into seven relief
camps. Their conditions have worsened because the district
administration had stopped food and other forms of support. It was
then that the villagers wanted to solicit Patnaik's help.

Koraput District Collector R.P. Patil said about 500 families had been
displaced by the CMS, but 300 of them had returned home.

"We have provided them assistance and released funds for them to build
houses," he said.

There is unrest for more two years in Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon
blocks because the CMS has launched its agitation of forcibly
occupying land. A few landlords were killed and most fled the place.
The landless who did not join ranks with the CMS were also hounded
out.

[ZESTCaste] The ‘upper caste' renders Dalits of Saligrama jobless

http://www.hindu.com/2010/10/05/stories/2010100551160500.htm

Karnataka - Mysore

The 'upper caste' renders Dalits of Saligrama jobless

Special Correspondent

About 500 Dalits have been ostracised since September 26

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Authorities have not visited the village'

CPI(M) threatens dharna
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MYSORE: As many as 500 Dalit families belonging to Saligrama village
in K.R. Nagar taluk have been in dire straits following social
ostracism by members of an "upper caste" community for the last two
weeks.

K.R. Nagar taluk is primarily an agricultural region and Saligrama has
a population of nearly 10,000 people. Of them, 2,000, comprising about
500 families, belong to the Holaya community. What set it off

The immediate cause for the social boycott of the Holayas was a petty
incident. Some cattle belonging to the "upper caste" community was
found grazing on the land belonging to one Govindaraju, a Dalit.
Govindaraju took objection to the cattle being on his land as he was
entirely dependent on the land for his livelihood.

Govindaraju had an altercation with members of the "upper caste"
community on the matter, which led to him being assaulted. Govindaraju
immediately filed a police complaint seeking protection. The "upper
caste" members feeling that he had "exceeded his limits" by daring to
file a police complaint, decided to boycott the Dalits from September
26.

The incident came into the public domain after a fact-finding
committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), led by State
secretariat member Maruti Manpade, visited Saligrama on Monday and
shared their findings with the media.

The team visited the village and discovered that all Dalits had been
dismissed from their jobs while those who employ their women folk as
housemaids were asked to pay Rs. 2,000 for not abiding by the diktat
of the "upper caste". "What is worse is that those who brought this
'violation' to the notice of the 'leaders' were rewarded with Rs. 500,
according to Varalakshmi, who was part of the CPI(M) team. The CPI(M)
members said the Dalits in Saligrama were being denied work in farms
while those who were working as lorry drivers, auto drivers and
electricians had lost their jobs.

No action

He said the police had failed to take action against the guilty. "We
tried to contact the officials but they said they were unable to
attend to the complaint immediately because of Dasara. They have not
bothered to visit the village," he added. The CPI(M) has threatened to
launch a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office if the
authorities fail to address the problem before Dasara.

[ZESTCaste] Telangana Achievable Through People's Stir: Gadar

http://news.outlookindia.com/item.aspx?696052

Telangana Achievable Through People's Stir: Gadar
Warangal (AP) | Oct 05, 2010

Revolutionary folk artist and balladeer Gadar, who is floating a front
to fight for separate Telangana, today stressed on undertaking
movement for achieving the statehood goal, but said his outfit would
be a "political force".

Gadar, who has been laying emphasis on adequate political
representation to the backward classes and Dalits, said here he
believed the statehood goal would be achieved through people's
agitation rather than contesting elections.

He, however, said 'Telangana Praja Front', proposed to be launched
formally on October 9, would be a "political force" as statehood is a
political issue.

The front is proposed to be launched by bringing together 56 Joint
Action Committees (JACs) representing various sections of the society.

He alleged that parties like TRS have failed to sustain the agitation
after the Centre announced the decision to form separate Telangana on
December 9 last year and appointed Srikrishna Committee subsequently.

Gadar's announcement to launch the outfit triggered expectation that
it would emerge as an alternative to TRS which has hitherto dominated
the Telangana politics.

Ruling Congress and Opposition TDP leaders have welcomed Gadar's
announcement, while TRS has remained tight- lipped on the development.

Orissa Dalits ask CM to allow self-immolation

PTI | 09:10 PM,Oct 05,2010
Bhubneswar, Oct 5 (PTI) Driven out of their homes by a Maoist-back
outfit and ignored by the government, several Dalits from Orissa's
Koraput district today demanded immediate rehabilitation or permission
for self-immolation.Representatives of the group, who launched a
sit-in and hunger strike here, met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and
told him that around 400 families of Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon areas
of Koraput have lost everything after their houses were forcibly
occupied by the Maoist-backed Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha (CMAS)."Like
nomads we have been staying outside villages for a long time fearing
physical attack by CMAS activists. We narrated our plight to the chief
minister," Bidyadhar Dehuri of the group told reporters."The
government should either rehabilitate us or allow us to commit self
immolation," he said. The Dalits had staged a sit-in at the state
capital last year and also met the chief minister, who had promised to
look into their demand for rehabilitation. But nothing has been done
since then, the Dalit leader said. They agreed to withdraw their hunger
strike following Patnaik's assurance later in the day.The chief
minister has promised to provide at least 300 houses under the state
government's "Mo Kudia" housing scheme meant for economically weaker
sections, for which site would be chosen within a week, he said. The
displaced families, who lost all their belongings, have been running
from pillar to post without food and shelter for support, he said
adding the affected people took to odd jobs and daily wage works,
while their children are unable to attend schools.
